Welcome to Boomerang Theatre Company

For several years now, Springwood High School in King’s Lynn has enjoyed a special link with Sandringham College in Melbourne, Australia.  Students from Sandringham have visited King’s Lynn as part of a world-wide tour and are hosted by families at the school.  As part of this link, students from Springwood are able to complete a cultural exchange by performing a specially written piece of musical theatre at Sandringham College.  Students from both countries find the chance to meet and form lasting friendships a most wonderful experience.

In 2002 the students of Springwood toured “The Audition” to schools and colleges in Australia. Starting at Sandringham, the tour travelled to venues in the Yarra Valley, Canberra, the Blue Mountains and Sydney. Our students had a wonderful time and the play was warmly received.

The 2005 tour was our second visit to Australia. All of the places we visited in 2002 invited us back. A tribute to the warmth of the Australian spirit and perhaps an indication of what a success the first tour turned out to be.

The 2008 tour again was very well recieved in both the UK and Australia. The play "Buckethead", dealt with the challenging topic of Autism and extra performances had to be added to cope with the demand to see it.

We are currently planning our 2011 tour when I am sure all our students will have another rewarding experience.
